Kearney Community Sustainable Housing (KCSH) is a new non-profit formed by Dr. Moore and several Kearney community members.Their mission is to construct housing units to meet the need in the Kearney community. Shelter is a primary part of their program, but wrap-around services in financial literacy, mental and physical health, and career development are essential parts of their program. Participants will explore 1) the impact of policy on homelessness 2) the challenges of designing the actual apartments 3) how non-profit organizations can better address these issues than governments 4) the importance of grant funding for success and 5) the parallels between this program and FCCLA's core objectives.
